The Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Urban Planning of
Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg invites
applications for a
Design - Construction Building
in existing Contexts
commencing on the next possible date.
The faculty is looking for an outstanding personality with above-average
architectural competence which should be demonstrated by successful
participation in competitions, built projects as well as profound theoretical reflection,
specifically in the field of design and building in existing contexts.
Research and teaching should focus on contextual design, engineering and
constructing in existing buildings in the interplay of history - design - use.
The applicant is expected to actively participate in independent, interdisciplinary
projects within the faculty and the university in connection with the BTU research
area "Smart Regions and Heritage".
Teaching is in the form of the project-based study and specialized seminars for
all levels of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs offered in our faculty.
Participation in academic self-administration and contribution to the further
development of the faculty profile is expected.

Other duties result from the requirements set by § 42 Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz
(Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG) in
conjunction with § 3 BbgHG.
Please refer to §§ 41, paragraph 1, no. 1 - 4a and 43 BbgHG for prerequisites
and conditions of employment.
Experience in the acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects is
expected. Fields of research should be relevant for DFG (German Research
Foundation) funding. Lectures are primarily to be held in German, fluency in
English is expected.
