The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Energy Systems
of Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) Cottbus-Senftenberg invites
applications for a
Decentralized Energy Systems
commencing at the earliest opportunity.
Applicants for this position are expected to teach in the field of decentralized energy
systems in the study programs "Power Engineering" (international master
program), "Industrial Engineering" and "Electrical Engineering" (German-taught
programs) as well as in other engineering programs.
We expect profound scientific experience in several of the following areas:
Generation of electricity from wind energy plants
Generation of electricity and heat from solar energy plants and biomass/biogas
Storage for electric energy and heat
Sector coupling for the utilization of renewable power generation into other
energy sectors and combined cycle generation
Power quality of assets and parks for the renewable power generation,
storage and sector coupling
Research work within this position should be based on the Principles of DFG
(Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) funding as well as on application-oriented
works and industrial projects.
Courses for research-oriented programs should be offered mainly in English.
A candidate should be ready to offer lectures and seminars for applied study
programs when required.
The chair is incorporated into the Institute of Electrical and Thermal Power
Systems. The candidate is expected to conduct interdisciplinary research in
cooperation with other related chairs. Moreover, the candidate is expected to
participate in university boards as well as regional and transregional networks.

Hochschulgesetz (Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG)
in conjunction with § 3 BbgHG.

Experience in the acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects is
expected. Fields of research should be relevant for DFG (German Research
Foundation) or similar international research funding organizations. Lectures are
primarily to be held in English, fluency in German is expected.
