Your tasks:

Within your field of teaching, the scope of duties will include the bachelor study programme Civil Engineering, in particular structural engineering as a field of specialization, in addition to the master’s study programme Structural Engineering and Digital Construction Processes. Your teaching content will convey the relevant subfields of steel and composite construction within the context of resource-friendly structural design. Furthermore, a willingness to offer courses in the area of the fundamentals of civil engineering, in particular construction mechanics, will be expected. Modules regarding the application of building informatics/CAD within the field of construction engineering are to be represented in teaching.
The subject area is an essential element of the Structural Engineering Laboratory. Within the framework of research, it is assumed that you will in particular make contributions to innovative, sustainable and resource-friendly structural designs in the area of steel construction, in addition to the further extension of the priority topic Digital Construction.
Furthermore, you promote innovative and interdisciplinary study and communication formats for multidisciplinary teaching and for the dialog between science and society. This may include, in particular, interdisciplinary student projects and may involve, if possible, several departments. 25% of your teaching is provided as digital teaching, if required, to enable cross-location events.
You identify with the university's supervision concept, which requires a high presence of the lecturers at the university location and the willingness to take on self-administrative task at the university. You offer your courses in German. In addition, you are qualified to conduct courses in English.

Your profile:

As a potential candidate you should be a university graduate with a doctorate qualification and be a person with engineering skills, a graduate of civil engineering or a comparable course of studies. The candidate in question is expected to possess the ability to represent the specialist field in the required breadth and depth with regard to research and teaching.
Particularly desirable is a skillset encompassing extensive professional and research experience in the area of steel and composite construction. Detailed requirements include experience in the following areas: design, calculation and construction of innovative and resource-friendly bearing structures. Furthermore, it is assumed that you are experienced within the setting of interdisciplinary and international research as well as in the area of obtaining external project funding.
