Your qualification:
We are looking for a person who is recognized in education and research in the field of Soil Biogeochemistry, Soil Science or related disciplines and has profound knowledge
of agricultural practice. You have graduated in agricultural, agronomic or natural sciences or any related disciplines followed by a relevant PhD, preferably in the field
of agricultural sciences. Besides your individual research focus, you are also qualified for basic teaching in the subject of agronomic soil science and chemistry in the
study course “Precision Farming” and in other Bachelor and Master courses of the Department “Environmental Engineering and Applied Computer Science”.
Furthermore you can prove knowledge and research activities in one or more of the following themes:
- Carbon turnover in agricultural soils
- Carbon fluxes in agricultural landscapes
- Carbon sequestration in agriculture
- Modeling of carbon turnover in agricultural soils
- Biomarker
- Using stable isotopes to identify and quantify soil processes
- High-resolution measurements of components of the soil water balance
- Modeling of the soil water balance
- Development and application of innovative, nondestructive biochemical measurements in agricultural soils
- Phosphate turnover in agricultural soils
- Soil microbiome of agricultural soils
The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Ostwestfalen-Lippe lives the unity of education and research. You are interested and willing to take an active part in raising third-party funds and research projects in the subject areas you are responsible for. You identify yourself with the supervision concept of the university, in which a high presence of the lecturers at the university’s campus and the willingness to take on tasks of the university's self-administration are required. Furthermore, your participation in designing and further developing the study course “Precision Farming” is expected. You offer your courses in German. In addition, you are qualified to conduct courses in English. In addition, you promote innovative and interdisciplinary study and communication formats for interdisciplinary teaching and for dialogue between science and society. If necessary, you will provide 25 % of your teaching as digital teaching to enable cross-location events.
