You will conduct undergraduate and graduate teaching in the field of Social Work, in particular:
Theories of Social Work
Theoretical Foundations and Social Work Practice Perspectives on Migration
Diversity in Social Work Practice
We expect you to be able to hold lectures in both English and German and to monitor projects in Germany and abroad. Therefore,
proficiency in both languages is a prerequisite. Working knowledge of a third language is an asset.
Furthermore, we expect you to coach students in their project studies and final theses. We expect that you will also teach general
courses within the faculty and that you will participate in research and development projects, in the development of professional
networks, and in the bodies of academic self-government.
The professorship entails:
We expect the post holder to be willing and able to offer German-language modules.
Occasionally, foundation modules, also in related subject areas and even in other faculties, are to be taught.
We expect you to be actively engaged in the development of the Faculty as well as our University. Additionally, you will be
involved in internationalisation efforts and university administration as well as in applied research projects and in the area
of technology and knowledge transfer.
Position is to be filled as soon as possible and will be located in Würzburg.
Conditions of Employment:
In order to be employed as a Professor at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt, the following conditions
have to be fulfilled (Article 7 (3) of the Bayerisches Hochschulpersonalgesetz, BayHSchPG):
an academic degree, preferably in a programme relevant for the subject area;
pedagogical aptitude, generally demonstrated through teaching and training experience;
outstanding research skills, usually proven by a doctoral degree;
extraordinary accomplishments in the application or development of research results and methods in at least five years
of postdoctoral professional experience; three of those five years have to be completed outside of academia;
employment as a trainee teacher (e. g. German Referendariat) or as academic or artistic staff in higher education can
only account for up to two years; in exceptional cases, when a considerable part of five years‘ work was done in close
cooperation between a higher education institution and an organisation/institution outside higher education, it can be
counted as work experience outside of academia.
