Professorship (W2)
Plastics Engineering
(Kunststofftechnik)
commencing at the 1
st April 2019.
Candidates must be specialized in the field of plastics technology engineering
studies. They should provide experience soliciting third-party funds and
conducting cooperation projects with partners from industry and science.
Extensive scientific experience is expected in the following areas:
- plastics processing and machining technology
- plastics application technology
Candidates are further expected to have an university degree, preferably in
the field of mechanical engineering, plastics or process engineering. At least
three years of professional experience in the plastics technology applications or
research is desired, as well as knowledge in the areas of the design with plastic
materials and the design of polymer-processing tools.
Responsibilities include research activities and the promotion of knowledge
and technology transfer, particularly, in cooperation with the Kunststoff-Verbund
Brandenburg Berlin e. V. (KUVBB e. V.) and the Cluster Kunststoffe und Chemie.
The thematic focus of the professorship is closely connected with the
professorship of Organic Polymers and Plastics, whose bearer is also the head
of the Fraunhofer Processing Pilot Plant for Biopolymers, which is why a close
cooperation with this, as well as with related fields is expected. There could also
be taken into focus the installation of a collaboration with a Fraunhofer research
group on biologic plastics.

Other duties result from the requirements set by § 42 Brandenburgisches
Hochschulgesetz (Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG)
in conjunction with § 3 BbgHG.

and conditions of employment.
Experience in the acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects is
expected. Fields of research should be relevant for DFG (German Research
Foundation) funding. Lectures are to be held primarily in German, fluency in
English is expected.
