W2 PROFESSORSHIP NEURONAL BASIS OF LEARNING
The Faculty of Psychology invites applicants for a W2 Professorship in the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience with a focus on The Neuronal Basis of Learning, beginning October 2018.
The candidate will conduct research and teaching in the area of cognitive neuroscience and cognitive science. This research position ideally focuses on experimental animal models of the neuronal processes of learning as well as approaches utilizing advanced analytical methods which enable the researcher to bridge the functional processes of learning and memory. Integration with the collaborative research centre (SFB) 1280 "Extinction Learning", as well as interaction in other collaborative neuroscience, neuroinformatics, and cognitive science projects is desired. The Faculty of Psychology is known to be one of the strongest research faculties at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, with numerous international connections and collaborative collegiality.
Positive evaluation as a junior professor or equivalent academic achievement (e.g. Habilitation) or significant post-doctoral research contributions and teaching experience are as required as well as the willingness to participate in the self-governing bodies of the RUB.
