The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Rostock invites applications for a
in „Transient states of matter“
at the Institute of Physics, at the earliest possible date (within budget considerations).
The University of Rostock invites applications for a professorship in Experimental Physics (W2) devoted to the analysis of
transient states of matter with special emphasis on structural characterization with ultrashort x-ray pulses. Topics of interest
matter under extreme conditions,
diffractive imaging with x-rays,
controlled structure formation in particles,
light-induced quantum dynamics.
We are looking for an outstanding scientist who employs state-of-the art short wavelength light-sources for the dynamical
characterization of the structural properties and the physical, chemical and biological function. The candidate is expected
to participate in joint programs of the Institute of Physics and to contribute to the activities of the Department of Life, Light,
and Matter within the Interdisciplinary Faculty of the University of Rostock. The teaching comprises courses within the
Physics Bachelor and Master Curricula and the International Master Physics of Life, Light, Matter.
