The successful applicant will cover the area named above in research and teaching.
Appointment requirements are governed by Article 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act
The successful candidate will have excellent research accomplishments and an attractive
research profile within the scope of theoretical condensed matter physics. The thematic
orientation of the professorship is generally open; however, her or his focus should
meaningfully complement the already existing activities of the Department in the fields of
theoretical condensed matter physics, quantum information, and theoretical bio/soft matter
physics. Furthermore, the research focus should fit well into the wider research environment
of Berlin. The selectee will have experience with third party funded projects and international
teaching and research.
The appointee will collaborate with colleagues of the Dahlem Center for Complex Quantum
Systems as well as with local research alliances, such as collaborative research centers
(e. g. SFB 1078 Protonation Dynamics in Protein Function, SRB/TR 183 Entangled States of
Matter). The professor will demonstrate a deep commitment to teaching students in
theoretical physics, and actively participate in departmental administrative affairs.
