The part-time professorship is subject to the requirements of Section 61 (8) HHG.
The candidate hired for this position shall represent the subject of clinical developmental psychology of children, adolescents and adults as a related field of social work in its entire interdisciplinary breadth. She/he will teach both in the Bachelor’s degree program in social work and in the Master’s program in psychosocial counselling and law. As a member of the specialist group "Personality and Society", she/he will be expected to actively engage with the advertised field of expertise in the practical focus area of education and upbringing in cooperation with faculty members, including those from other disciplines and universities.
In terms of content, the focus lies on conveying the specific developmental functions of each phase of life over the entire lifespan. In addition, the specific developmental psychopathologies of the different phases of life will be considered in accordance with the basic understanding of clinical developmental psychology. Ultimately, the applicant should be able to link the developmental psychological perspective with salutogenic and resilience-promoting concepts in order to explain the theoretical framework for diagnostic and pedagogical interventions in the fields of social work on this basis.
Since the applicant also represents the subject of clinical developmental psychology in the psychodynamic area of focus of the MA in Psychosocial Counseling and Law (psychodynamic counselling and psychoanalytic social work), additional training in psychodynamics and relevant practical experience is required.
Proof of a degree in psychology, a relevant doctorate and in-depth knowledge of clinical developmental psychology, which is expressed through relevant research and publications, as well as teaching experience and psychodynamic training are required.

High presence at the institution of higher education and intensive care of our students; participation in basic training i.e. the representation of the relevant field in an introductory form in all degree courses of the faculty; qualification and aptitude to research and successful acquisition of third party funding; gender and diversity competence; participation in international activities of the institution of higher education, including teaching in the English language; participation in the interdisciplinary Studium Generale; contributions to offers in continuing education, life-long learning and eLearning; taking on responsibility in the frame of academic self-administration; continuing education in the technical discipline and higher education didactics; willingness to cooperate cross-regionally with other institutions of higher education in the region; dedication and initiative in the frame of a efficiency-oriented salary.
The hiring conditions are in accordance with §§ 61 and 62 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (HHG). This is a permanent contract. The first appointment as a professor is first as a public-service employee on probation or with an unlimited employment contract with a 3-year long probation period.
