The Physics Department of the School of Science and Mathematics announces an immediate opening for a
Professorship (W 2) in Quantum Materials
The main research field associated with this position is the preparation and characterization of 2D materials, such as layered
chalcogenides, oxides and nitrides. The activities will be embedded in the work of the research cluster 'Nanophysics' at
Oldenburg University. The successful candidate holds expert knowledge in the following topics, as proven by publications in corresponding journals:
Preparation methods in materials science (e.g. atomic layer deposition, magnetron sputtering, laser ablation, physical and chemical vapor deposition)
Preparation and characterization of 2D materials
The successful candidate has a number of well-cited publications, long-standing experience in the acquisition of research grants and is open to interdisciplinary
research topics. The applicant has the ability to teach effectively and enthusiastically across the spectrum of topics in experimental physics, is expected to take
some administrative functions and willing to play an active role in cooperating with the University of Bremen.
Preconditions for employment are specified in § 25 NHG. To increase the proportion of women in science, equally qualified female candidates will be given preference.

The position is suitable for part-time employment.
