University Professor – salary grade W2
The position is sponsored by the Head-Genuit-Foundation for five years with the option of prolongation. The equipment and the personnel costs of the professorship are provided entirely by foundation funds.

Working field: The endowed professorship should deal with issues of perception of sound, the effect of the noise of machines and vehicles on people, but also with the perceived acoustic quality of products in general. The focus should be on topics such as the analysis and modeling of sound perception by humans with the aspects of acoustical signal processing, localization of sound sources and pattern recognition of acoustic signals, psychoacoustic measuring techniques as well as signal processing and measurement methods, the acoustic quality of machine and traffic systems, the acoustic design of products and control with the aim of a lower acoustic annoyance, physiological and psychological effects of noise on humans, the quantification of the noise-related aural stress as well as soundscape-based noise impact research. Candidates should be able to teach in German and English.
Requirements: Candidates must qualify for appointment according to the requirements of § 100 BerlHG, including an university degree (preferably in engineering), qualified achievements in research demonstrated by a PhD and a postdoctoral degree (Habilitation) or equivalent, pedagogic and educational capabilities, to be given proof of by a teaching portfolio (for more information see TUB website, quick access no. 144242).
Scientific achievements gained from applied research and teaching in the field of pyschoacoustics and acoustic measurement techniques are a prerequisite. The willingness to collaborate within faculty and university as well as many years of professional experience in trade, in an executive position are expected.
