Professorship (W2) in Empirical Classroom Research

The Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences is seeking to appoint a
Professor (salary grade W 2) in Empirical Classroom Research
to start on 01.04.2021.
We are seeking a candidate with an educational science profile in research and teaching who will represent the sub-field of empiricalquantitative classroom research within the field of Research on Schools.
The successful candidate is required to have relevant research work and publications in two of the three areas of classroom research at TU Braunschweig (lesson quality in heterogeneous learning groups, efficacy and use of digital teaching-learning formats, videographically supported analyses of classroom teaching) and have documented experience in applying for and procuring third-party funding.
Applicants should also have experience with national and international research cooperation projects and the willingness to participate in interdisciplinary research initiatives and projects within and outside of TU Braunschweig. Applicants must have relevant social and leadership skills and have experience in academic self-governance as well as in science management.
The future professor's tasks will include teaching in the relevant methodology modules in the institute's bachelor's and master's programmes, especially in the context of reasearch projects in the master's programmes for primary, "Hauptschulen" (lower secondary) and "Realschulen" (middle secondary) schools as well as conceptual development of blended-learning formats in empirical methodology.
The teaching load is 9 SWS per week.
Within the Institute for Educational Sciences, the chair is assigned to the Department of Research on Schools.
