Your future task
In the Faculty of Nature and Technology you will participate in the development of teaching and research in the accredited study programmes "Naval Architecture and Ocean
Engineering B.Eng. and M.Eng. You will be expected to participate actively in the related research clusters of the university as well as in the development of the teaching
and research area "Blue Sciences". The professorship also encompasses supervision of the laboratory for maritime hydrodynamics. Teaching duties include the basic and
advanced modules of the above-mentioned subject area in the Bachelor's and consecutive Master's programmes. In particular, you will also be expected to develop profile
modules for the teaching area of "Blue Sciences".
In addition to having completed a relevant engineering degree in the context of naval architecture and ocean engineering as well as a qualified doctorate, you have several
years of practical experience in hydrodynamics. You have gathered extensive knowledge of theoretical and practical hydrodynamics (e.g. computational fluid dynamics, ship design
optimisation, sea-keeping analysis) and have applied this competences to the design of ships and offshore systems, also with regard to energy efficiency and sustainability, and
have further advanced methods common to the field.

Furthermore, you will be expected to
teach basic and advanced courses in Bachelor's and Master's degree programme and expand the range of course offerings; these duties will include the supervision of students studying abroad and in their practical semester as well as the supervision of final theses,
contribute to interdisciplinary projects and participate actively in their further development, particularly in the teaching and research area of "Blue Sciences",
acquire and implement research and development projects and to actively shape the technology transfer of the Hochschule Bremen,
further develop the international relations of the Faculty,
actively participate in the committees of academic self-governance,
actively participate in the university's research clusters,
to have the ability and willingness to offer courses in German and English, and
establish Bremen or its immediate surroundings as your place of residence.
A sound knowledge in the general organisation of research and teaching as well as science management is an additional advantage.
