Faculty 1: Architecture – Civil Engineering – Geomatics is looking for a
(Salary grade W2 Hessian Salary Law (HBesG))
for the following field: Geodatamanagement
as of summer semester 2020.
The job holder is to represent the Geodatamanagement in the bachelor and master program „Geoinformation and Public Works“ of the faculty. The focus is on the deepening of GIS methods in the areas of modeling, analysis, visualization and application development. In addition, active participation in further courses in faculty 1 is expected. Examples are the digitization of construction and planning processes (BIM), the digital infrastructure documentation or interfaces of GIS for the operation of buildings (CAFM).
Very good knowledge and experience are expected in programming (Python and PHP), geospatial databases, spatial modeling, spatial data infrastructures, implementation of GIS projects and general data processing. Applicants must be able to represent the entire subject area in teaching and applied research from the perspective of „digital transformation“.
High competence for the planning and realization of interdisciplinary projects as well as the personal commitment in the third-party funded research are expected. Experience in the execution of
research projects is desirable.
Applicants are expected to have an university degree and an above-average PhD in Geoinformatics,
Geomatics, Geodesy or Computer Science and relevant professional experience.
You will be asked to submit a teaching and research concept (maximum 5 pages) with the application documents.

The hiring conditions are in accordance with §§ 61 and 62 of the Hessian Higher Education Act. This is a permanent contract. The first appointment as a professor is first as a public-service employee on probation or with an unlimited employment contract with a 3-year long probation period.
