Professorship (W2) for the field of "Structural Analysis and Design of Ships and Offshore Systems"

for the field of "Structural Analysis and Design of Ships and Offshore

Your future task
In the Faculty of Nature and Engineering you will participate in the development
of teaching and research in the accredited degree programmes "Naval
Architecture and Ocean Engineering B.Eng. and M.Eng." You will be expected
to participate actively in the relevant research clusters embedded at the Hochschule
Bremen as well as in the development of the teaching and research area
"Blue Sciences". This includes supervision of the lab for the applied analysis
and design of offshore systems.
Duties include teaching the basic and advanced modules of the above-mentioned
subject area in the bachelor's programme and the consecutive master's. In
particular, it is expected that you will develop interdisciplinary profile modules
for the teaching area of "Blue Sciences".
In addition to having completed a relevant engineering degree in the context of
naval architecture and ocean engineering as well as a doctorate, you have
several years of practical experience in the structural analysis and design of
ships and offshore systems. You have comprehensive knowledge in the application
of CAE systems, finite element methods and manufacturing processes,
ideally in the field of innovative materials and lightweight construction.

Moreover, you will be expected to
teach basic and advanced courses in bachelor's and master's degree
programmes and expand the range of course offerings; these duties will
include the supervision of students studying abroad and in their practical
semester as well as the supervision of final theses,
contribute to interdisciplinary projects and participate actively in their
further development, particularly in the teaching and research area of "Blue
