Professorship for
"Structural System Design"
at MSA | Münster School of Architecture

What to expect:

  • You will be responsible for teaching and conducting research in the area of Structural System Design at MSA.
  • You will teach Structural Design and Structural Construction using an underlying, integrative and holistic approach in the project planning of the constructed environment on all scales.
  • You will support our internationalisation strategy with enthusiasm and competence.
  • You will also play an active role in professional development and continuing education at MSA.
  • Besides your readiness to shape and further develop the curricula, you will represent MSA on committees and at meetings in the context of selfgovernment.

Your background:

  • Your expertise is based on your degree in Civil Engineering and/or Architecture as well as recognised practical experience in the national and international context.
  • We appreciate not only the realisation of architecturerelated structural projects for which you were responsible, but also the planning approaches you take to accomplish innovative structural designs.
  • Experience in applying digital planning methods such as BIM, and parametric tools and scripting complement your portfolio.
  • You have the ability to present complex interconnections and concepts in a comprehensible manner, getting students enthusiastic about load-bearing systems and the associated knowledge content.
  • A relevant doctorate is desirable. The requirements for recruitment under Section 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (HSG NRW) apply.
