The Faculty of Education at Goethe University Frankfurt / Main, Germany, invites applications for the following full time position:
Professorship (W2) for Education
Focus on Teaching and Instruction
The position will include research and teaching in the field of educational science. A special focus will be laid on theory and empirical research on
teaching and instruction. The following key aspects should be focussed:
Theoretical reflection on teaching, instruction and didactics
Qualitative research on teaching and classroom-interaction
Analysis of pedagogical arrangements, learning processes and interaction in classroom
The successful candidate is expected to participate in research initiatives of the department for education of secondary schools (Institut für Pädagogik der Sekundarstufe)
and the faculty of education. Furthermore, the candidate is requested to do video analysis of teaching, work with the mediality and materiality of teaching.
Teaching will be directed to students of the teacher education programs on different levels (primary and secondary school, special education) and to students of the BA/MA program of
Education. In teaching, the focus will be laid on teaching and instruction and students assessment. Because of the professorship is involved in teacher training, candidates are required
to have specific experience in this area and should be willing to participate in interdisciplinary initiatives in the field of empirical educational research.
