The successful candidate will represent the field in alignment with the profile of the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau in teaching, research, and knowledge transfer.
Candidates should have a proven academic record of accomplishment, usually including a qualified doctoral thesis. The special subject requirements are in the area of planning, installation, configuration and administration of IT systems in the administrative area as well as in the area of operating systems, networks and services, information and communication systems, technical IT security and ITIL service management.
TH Wildau intends to further strengthen its international and interdisciplinary profile in teaching and research. Candidates will ideally have relevant professional experience and be internationally networked. TH Wildau also has a significant focus on applied research and knowledge transfer undertaken by professors. Candidates will therefore show relevant research activities and recognised publications, and be in a position to promote contacts to external regional and international partners.
The successful candidate must also be willing to teach basic modules in related fields. This includes teaching in other degree programmes. We expect candidates to be able to teach in English and to be willing to teach in distance-learning programmes and to use and develop online learning programmes.
The ideal candidate will have relevant specialist knowledge and expertise, with experience in practice, teaching, and research, and will be able to plan and conduct teaching with high levels of methodological competence. High motivation in applied and vocational teaching and the ability to work well with students and other partners within the university are essential. Candidates must be willing to contribute to innovation and reform processes in teaching and to work in relevant university self-administrative bodies.
This post is for tenure as a civil servant. In the case of a first appointment as professor, the post is initially limited according to § 43 section 1 Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz (BbgHG) to three years and six months.
Requirements for appointment are as in § 41BbgHG:
a. completed university degree,
b. suitability as a teacher,
c. particular qualification for academic work, usually a qualified doctoral thesis, and
d. notable achievements in the application of academic knowledge and methods through at least three years of professional practice, at least two of which must be outside of universities.
