W1 Professorship for
technological and social change
The professorship is supposed to contribute to establishing an institute that is affiliated with the universities of Bielefeld and Paderborn and which is dedicated to the interactions between technological change (digitalization) and economic and social development. The focus is on ways to shape this interaction as well as the acquisition and utilization of technology in working life and effects on the entire living environment.
Prerequisite for this position is an above average doctoral degree in social sciences as well as relevant experience in theoretically guided empirical research documented by research projects and/or peer-reviewed publications.
Transdisciplinary collaboration with other involved disciplines of the behavioral sciences as well as technical and information sciences is expected. The successful applicant should show a high degree of interest in the conditions of interaction and cooperative relationships (for example, trust, fairness, obligation, security) in digitalized work and living environments.
This as well as an empirical approach is essential for the research orientation. Work organizations and their institutional environment play a significant role in this context.
Requirements according to § 36 HG NRW are a university degree in a pertinent subject, competence in scientific research, evidenced by the quality of the doctoral degree.
