The professorship is offered at Jade University of Applied Sciences Wilhelmshaven/​Oldenburg/​Elsfleth in the Department of Civil Engineering Geoinformation and Health Technology for the Division Technology and Health for People at Campus Oldenburg, starting immediately.

Your profile:

In addition to the conditions of the NHG § 25, successful candidates must fulfill the following essential requirements:

• Graduate degree preferably in Midwifery
• Holding the professional official title of certified midwife or maternity nurse
• At least three years of professional experience as a midwife or maternity nurse
• Pedagogical-didactic aptitude demonstrated by practical experience

Additional requirements:

• Teaching experience in midwifery education / obstetrics at a university of applied sciences or a university
• Evidence-based work in midwifery with a focus on out of hospital obstetric care
• Experience in giving state exams in midwifery
• Experience with practical guidance or mentoring of students
• Relevant research and scientific publications in midwifery science
• Leadership skills, ability to work in a team, personal authenticity and confident interacting with different target groups
• Social and intercultural competence

Your responsibilities:

• Expansion of teaching program in midwifery
• Conception and implementation of lectures in evidence-based midwifery
• Advancement of relationships between cooperating institutions, particularly between practice partners and within the Health Campus Oldenburg
• Involvement in student mentoring and practical guidance
• Active participation in research as well as in the Third Mission of the Jade University of Applied Sciences with the possibility to establish your own research focus and to attract third-party funding
• Offering lectures and training events in other health programs
• Participation in academic self-governance
