Part-time Professorship in Tourism
A position as 25% professor in tourism is vacant at the Department of Entrepreneurship and Relationship Management, the University of Southern Denmark, from 1 November 2017 or as soon as possible after that.
The professor is expected to drive the development of teaching and research within tourism and to collaborate on the ongoing research and education activities with the Faculty of Humanities. In relation to this, the professor should contribute to the development of new teaching methods and management of multidisciplinary teams and teaching.
Tourism is a growing research area, and it is important for us to recruit new talented researchers. The department wishes to recruit qualified employees who are professional, act efficiently, that are personally committed to their job and wish to be part of a team. The department is historically development-oriented with an entrepreneurial spirit. We reflect this in education, research and dissemination, with a strong research focus and international outlook. The department is democratic with a supportive culture, team orientation and relationship-building behaviour.
The applicant should be an established scholar in the tourism field, preferably with business economics, marketing, management innovation or strategy as particular emphasis. The quality of research should be at the highest level. Experience from international research collaborations is imperative. Teaching and supervision in tourism innovation and related areas should be substantial and include the PhD level. The applicant should have experience from advisory committees, collaboration with industry and governmental bodies and grant application and execution. The assessment of applicants will consider the amount and quality of research as well as the teaching, funding, outreach and managerial qualifications.
The Department of Entrepreneurship and Relationship Management has a staff of about 85 people in Kolding, Sønderborg and Slagelse. It focuses on the research in three areas: Organization and Entrepreneurship, B-to-B Marketing and Supply Chain Management, and Accounting and Revision. The workplace will be at the department in Campus Kolding.

Appointment to the position will be in accordance with the salary agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.

Research and publication plan for the next 3 years

Applications will be assessed by an assessment committee and the committee will assess whether you are qualified to be a Professor.
The committee may request additional information, and if so, it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide the necessary material.
When the assessment committee has submitted its report, the applicant will receive the part of the evaluation that concerns him/her. The assessment report will subsequently be forwarded to the Head of Deparment who will assemble an appointments committee. The appointments committee will manage and complete the job interviews, should such be conducted. Additionally, the appointments committee determines which candidate will be offered the position.
Applications that are incomplete with regard to the above requirements will not be assessed by the committee.
