The University of Zurich invites applications for a
professorship in empirical communication and media research
The position should be filled by 1 February 2025.
Applicants are expected to conduct excellent research with an international impact on the use and effects of mediated communication and must have a proven track record in the methods and methodology of communication and media research. This should be evidenced by scholarly publications and third-party funded projects. Applicants should have teaching experience in the aforementioned areas and will be involved in the Department of Communication and Media Research’s (IKMZ) methods and statistics training. The appointee will be expected to teach in German as well as in English. In addition to conducting innovative research, cooperation in research and teaching with other professors at IKMZ, at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and with national and international partners is expected. IKMZ values transparent, reproducible and replicable research and supports open-science practices.
Candidates must hold a PhD degree in communication and media research or in the relevant field at the time of application as well as a habilitation or equivalent achievements as evidenced by excellent scientific publications.
