The University of Lucerne is the youngest university in Switzerland. The roots of the Faculty
of Theology extend back to the late 16th century. On the foundation of the Judeo-Christian
tradition, research and lectures are undertaken in an interdisciplinary discourse with other
related academic fields. The faculty recognises that the local church and the world church
are connected and sees ecumenical and interreligious dialogue as a top priority. In
Switzerland, the faculty takes a leading role in training theologians.
