The following professorship is to be filled in the Faculty of Engineering at our campus in Koblenz at the earliest possible date:

The position holder represents the subject area in teaching and research. We are looking for a Qualified personality with comprehensive competence and professional experience, who will teach artificial intelligence, in particular machine learning, in a new degree program in intelligence, in particular machine learning, in teaching, research and its application in the classical engineering fields (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, etc.) in the engineering represents. In addition to pedagogical-didactic aptitude, the prerequisites are a university degree in the field of engineering sciences, computer science or comparable subjects as well as several years of practical experience in this field as well as a qualified doctoral degree, preferably in the subject areas of the teaching field. Expected are:

• profound knowledge of the fundamentals and basic technologies of the teaching area,
• practical experience in the application and implementation of AI methods in an engineering environment,
• good knowledge of hardware and software for the application of AI methods,
• sound knowledge of evaluating the economic viability, benefits and risks of AI systems,
• Collaboration in research projects for knowledge transfer to the regional economy.

In addition to a willingness to teach foundational modules, experience and knowledge of IoT, Big Data, algorithms and databases are advantageous in order to generate further teaching offers from this.
