Goethe University Frankfurt am Main invites applications for the position of
Professor (W2) of Sport and Nutrition
in the Institute of Sport Sciences at the Faculty of Psychology and Sports Sciences. This civil servant or public employee position will start as soon as possible.
The future holder of the position should represent the subject area of "Sport and Nutrition" in research and teaching. Applicants are expected to have a complying interdisciplinary, internationally compatible and quantitatively-empirically oriented focus in sports science research. Furthermore, international scientific experience, the willingness to cooperate with organized sports (especially in the region), a broad connectivity to the research foci of the Department of Psychology and Sports Science at Goethe University as well as the willingness to cooperate in interdepartmental initiatives are expected. In teaching, the professorship represents the topic of "Sport and Nutrition" in all courses of study at the Institute of Sport Sciences. Applicants are expected to have appropriate subject knowledge as well as a high level of pedagogical and teaching aptitude, which must be demonstrated by positive teaching evaluations. In the course of the opening of the university for foreign students and the internationalisation of the study programs, courses in the Bachelor and Master programs can also be offered in English.
A university degree in sports science, nutrition science, human medicine and/or a related subject is required, as well as a qualified doctorate and outstanding scientific research achievements, which can be achieved through a habilitation, a positively inter-evaluated junior professorship or equivalent scientific achievements in the field of sports science. Experience in the acquisition of third-party funds is also required. Because the professorship is involved in teacher training, candidates are required to have specific experience in this area and should be willing to participate in interdisciplinary initiatives in the field of empirical educational research.
