The Institute of Education (IfE) at the Faculty of Educational and Social Science (FB 6) of the University of Münster, Germany, wishes to appoint a
Professor (W2) of educational science with specialisation in digitalisation in educational fields of activity
at the earliest possible date.
The prospective appointee will represent the discipline in all matters of research and teaching. He/She should possess research-based expertise on the challenges of digitalisation in the areas of academic training, education and socialisation. The candidate’s research could focus, for example, on the use and impact of digital media in educational and training processes, the development and application of new concepts for using digital media in educational and training processes, and the potentials of new media and technologies in connection to the further development of educational institutions. The candidate should have a strong empirical research focus which is based in educational science, experience with applying for and/or securing third-party financing and have prior international research/teaching experience.
The candidate will hold courses in the teaching and non-teaching bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes offered by the IfE. The candidate should participate in the ongoing conceptual development of IfE degree programmes, supervise students during their in-school and extracurricular practical phases, administer examinations and engage in academic self-administration.
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- an above-average, thematically relevant university degree
- an outstanding doctoral degree (magna cum laude or better) preferably in educational science
- exceptional academic achievements in the relevant field while employed as an assistant professor (Juniorprofessur), pursuing a habilitation or working as an academic staff member at a university or non-university research institute, or working in a research position in business, industry, administration or other relevant social fields in Germany or abroad
- suitable qualifications in the area of higher education didactics
