degree programs in the field of engineering. The department is divided into three
multifaceted teaching tracks – electrical engineering, computer science and mechanical engineering – and is characterized by forward-looking, application-oriented and increasingly interdisciplinary teaching and research as well as a strong international network.

As the job holder, you will represent and develop the field of automation technology and electrical engineering (including process measurement technology) for the application areas of process engineering and mechanical engineering in theory and practical application in our engineering courses. You have extensive experience and knowledge in the field of vocation and have applied this with great success in professional practice in process engineering or mechanical engineering. In managerial / project responsibility, you have also distinguished yourself by designing and implementing innovative projects in the field of digitalisation (e. g. condition monitoring, smart data, AI, soft sensors, ...). Therefore, your practical programming knowledge (also of automation components) and your in-depth understanding of the underlying automated / digitised technical processes were helpful to you. You have an excellent network in the professional society of the field of vocation and bring your practical contacts into the teaching / research of the university. You enjoy teaching very much and, with your personality and your pedagogical and didactic skills, inspire the students at our foreign partner universities for your subject area. We therefore also require adequate knowledge of German and English. With your high motivation and willingness (and competence) to shape an organisation, you are looking forward to developing the university further in a team-oriented manner as part of your research and/or self-administration activities. In addition to being assigned to the aforementioned faculty, the post holder will become a member of one or both of the following interdisciplinary organisational units, in which it is expected that they make a professional contribution as a member of the professorship: School of Personal Development and Education (ScoPE), which deals with the personal development of students and the specific didactics of a university of applied sciences, and/or the HoST, which strengthens interdisciplinary research as a research transfer center. We expect our professors to:

• Be active members of our institution and to continuously support the students.
• Participate in introductory courses, i. e., teach subjects at an introductory level in all the faculty’s degrees.
• Have a predisposition and inclination to research and secure third-party funding.
• Show gender and diversity competence.
• Participate in the institution’s international activities, including teaching in English.
• Participate in the interdisciplinary Studium generale.
• Contribute to the institution’s offer regarding further education, lifelong learning and e-learning.
• Take on responsibility regarding academic self-administration.
• Be willing to pursue further training and professional development in their field of expertise and in higher education didactics.
• Cooperate with other educational institutions in the region.
• Show commitment and initiative as expected from a performance-related position.

This is a permanent position. The first appointment as a professor is as a public-service employee on probation or with an unlimited employment contract with a 3-year long probation period.
