We are looking for a person with a proven experience in theory and practice with a university degree in the field of civil engineering (or a related field). The ability to scientific work in the subject area, pedagogical aptitude and competence as well as subject-related experience in a scientific context are required.
We expect that the applicant represent the field of road design and traffic engineering in all relevant courses of study in the department. Teaching responsibilities include practical and theoretical training in Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in the fundamentals of transportation, road design and traffic engineering, offering in-depth elective courses and projects, and supervising final theses. In addition to teaching technical, methodological and instrumental skills, special attention should be paid to aspects of sustainable, resource-saving routing using relevant software.
A special commitment to research is expected, in particular participation in the ReLUT - Research Lab for Urban Transport. Interdisciplinary collaboration with other teaching units and research foci is desired. The ability to teach in German and English is required.
In addition, the following are expected: Contributions to the university's offerings in continuing education, lifelong learning, and eLearning; assumption of responsibility within the framework of academic self-governance; continuous training in subject-specific science and university didactics; willingness to cooperate across sites with other universities in the region.

The position is available for an unlimited period of time. When first appointed to a professorship, employment is initially on a probationary civil service basis or on a permanent employment basis with a three-year probationary period.
