Professor
in » Arts in Architecture «
W2 Tenure Track Assistant Professor (with tenure track to W3) or W3 Associate/Full Professor; to begin in
summer semester 2024.
Scientific environment
The professorship will be assigned Department of Architecture within the TUM School of Engineering and Design.
We design systems, structures, and spaces. Our vision is to successfully combine design practice with research.
The department is well-connected with the engineering disciplines.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. Supervision
of media-based PhDs is mandatory. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of Arts in Architecture with
a focus on interaction of new technologies with aesthetic practices in spatial contexts. Teaching responsibilities
include courses in the university’s bachelor and master programs, especially in architecture and design.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated excellent achievements in research, teaching and creative
practice in an internationally recognized scientific environment, relative to the relevant career level (please see

A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific and artistic qualification, as well
as pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites. We are looking for a personality who has an effect into other disciplines
by pursuing an interdisciplinary view and approach to work. The artistic engagement with media technologies,
e.g. film, AI and virtual worlds, is helpful. Substantial research experience abroad as well as full commitment to
do interdisciplinary research is expected. Furthermore, the proven ability to gain and to lead cooperative research
projects, an independent artistic work and experience in the creative industries is also required.
