Professor of Interfacial Engineering
INSTITUTE FOR INTERFACIAL ENGINEERING AND PLASMA TECHNOLOGY I AT THE EARLIEST OPPORTUNITY
In addition the Professor will take a leading role at the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology (IGB) in Stuttgart.
At the University of Stuttgart, the professor will head the Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Plasma Technology (IGVP) and represent the field of Interfacial Engineering.
The applicant shall be recognized for internationally distinguished research in the field of interfacial technology, especially concerning synthesis, modification and experimental characterisation of interfaces and the modelling of those. This includes research concerning chemical-physical or biotechnical interface properties and processes of conversion and transport at fluid-fluid and solid-fluid interfaces.
The lectures for interfacial engineering are primarily part of the study programs Process Engineering, Technical Biology and Medical Engineering, but also contribute to the study programs Energy Technology, WASTE, Material Sciences and Chemistry.
The Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology (IGB) develops and optimizes processes and products for the business areas of the health, chemistry and process industries, as well as environment and energy technologies. At the IGB, the Professor will take over a leading role under the Head of the Institute.
We are seeking a candiate with excellent skills in the mentioned areas who will represent the institute's fields of activity in discussions with the scientific community as well as with public funding organisations and industrial contract research partners. Expected is internationally recognized scientific excellence, experience in leadership and the ability to successfully acquire of external funding and experience in teaching.
