the Cluster of Excellence "The Politics of Inequality"
(fulltime, Salary Scale E13 TV-L)
Reference No. 2019/264. The Cluster invites applications for the postdoctoral position in its project "Political elites and inequality: Information,
heuristics and policy". The position is to be filled as of January 1, 2020 for initially four years with possible extension. In principle, this position can be divided
into two part-time positions.
The University of Konstanz has been successful in the German Excellence Initiative and Excellence Strategy since 2007. "The Politics of Inequality" is a Cluster of Excellence at the
University of Konstanz within the framework of the Excellence Strategy of the federal and state governments.
The cluster-funded project "Political elites and inequality: Information, heuristics and policy" studies how political elites acquire and process information about inequality and
redistributive policies using survey and experimental designs. The interdisciplinary project team consists of Prof. Dr. Christian Breunig (political science), Prof. Dr. Friedrich
Breyer (Economics), Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Gaissmaier (Psychology), and Prof. Dr. Guido Schwerdt (Economics).
The successful applicant will be a member of the project team and contributes to its research activities. Developing an independent research agenda within the project is highly encouraged.
Applications are open to excellent postdoctoral researchers in the fields of Political Science, Economics, or Psychology (minimum requirement: doctoral thesis submitted) with a keen interest in the project's research goals. An in-depth understanding of survey methods and experimental design is expected.
