The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim is seeking a

Postdoctoral or Advanced Graduate Researcher (100 %)


to work at the Research Department of "Corporate Taxation and Public Finance".

The focus of the position will be empirical public finance with a focus on issues related to public procurement in Europe. The Research Department welcomes applicants who are close to graduating or who have recently obtained their PhD in a relevant field.

The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of theory and quantitative methods in public finance with some links to public procurement topics and excellent writing skills. The candidates are not expected to teach but should be interested to conceptualize and manage third party-financed research projects particularly targeting national and European policy institutions. Fluency in English is required; command of German would be appreciated.

We are offering the opportunity to undertake challenging work in an exciting research environment. Extensive contacts within our international research network offer attractive future career prospects. Continuing qualification in postdoctoral studies is explicitly supported, e.g by facilitating fellowships at renowned research institutions abroad.

The position is full time and will be for an initial period of 2 years with a possibility to extend for another 3 years. Remuneration is based on the TVL statutory salary scale and its associated public sector benefits.
