The groups of Semiconductor Components (SC) and BIOS-Lab-on-a-Chip has a vacancy for a post-doc position. The project focusses on new types of devices called negative-capacitance (NC) devices. These devices makes use of a special ferroelectric material that enforces the negative-capacitance effect in the silicon. The groups are now recruiting for a postdoc who will address modelling and simulation aspects, and will perform extended electrical characterization of the in-house realized NC devices.
The project is financed by the MESA+ strategic impulse
(www.utwente.nl/mesaplus) and is intended to be continued in another programme. The project is a collaboration between the SC and BIOS-Lab-on-a-Chip group at the University of Twente. The research will also be carried out there. The PhD student will be under guidance of several supervisors (Dr. Ray Hueting, Dr. Wouter Olthuis, Prof. Dr. Jurriaan Schmitz, and Prof. Dr. Jan Eijkel) of the University of Twente.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic researcher (F/M) with an Ph.D. degree in applied physics, electrical engineering, nanotechnology, or a related topic, with excellent theoretical and experimental skills. We seek candidates with good team spirit, who like to work in an internationally oriented environment. Fluency in English is a requirement. An interview will be part of the selection procedure. Conditions of employment
We offer an interesting temporary research position in a dynamic and international environment, with the benefits of an industrial laboratory as well as academic research. You will be appointed for a period of one year. A training program is a part of the agreement. You and your supervisor will make up a plan for the additional education and supervising that you specifically need. This plan also defines which teaching activities you will be responsible for (up to a maximum of 20% of your time).
