The Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH)– Member of the Leibniz Association is offering a
PostDoc Position (100%) (f/m/d)
assigned to the IWH Department of Structural Change and Productivity, starting at the earliest possible date. The contract will initially be limited to three years,
but an extension is intended. It is considered suitable for part-time work. The place of employment is Halle (Saale).

The Department of Structural Change and Productivity conducts cutting-edge research at the intersection of labour economics and productivity research. The department hosts
the Competitiveness Research Network (www.comp-net.org), which is a highly visible research network of leading
policy institutions as European Central Bank or European Commission and excellent academic institutions, and runs major competitive grants as e.g. the Horizon 2020
project MICROPROD (www.microprod.eu).
Your profile and motivation
You have a strong interest in empirical labour economics. A special focus on wage determination, labour mobility, labour market institutions, firm dynamics, or firm productivity
is desirable. You aspire to an academic career and publish the results of your research in leading international journals.
What we expect
You hold a high-quality doctoral degree in economics or are close to completing it. You have a sound background in applied microeconometrics as well as labour economics.
We also appreciate good knowledge of relevant micro data on workers and firms. You are willing to push the department’s research agenda on structural change and
productivity. Your tasks further include linking the group with the national and international scientific community, cooperating with other IWH departments, and supporting Ph.D. students.
