Jobs with chances
Cutting-edge medicine requires research.
The Mueller-Planitz group at the Technical University Dresden is looking for an ambitious and highly motivated

Postdoc in Protein Biochemistry / Biophysics (f/m/x)

to study the mechanism of enzymes in the nucleus

In our laboratory, we investigate mechanisms and functions of enzymes that work on chromatin. We combine protein biochemistry, biophysics, structural approaches, mass spectrometry, genomic and genetic techniques. In this project, we will investigate the mechanism of ATP-dependent nucleosome remodeling factors. These are enzymes that slide nucleosomes along DNA. They also take part in phase separation of chromatin. We will use in-vitro fluorescence techniques, cryo-EM and cutting-edge mass spectrometry. Besides research, the position offers teaching opportunities.
The group is located at the biomedical campus of the Technical University Dresden, which belongs to one (of eleven) Elite Universities in Germany and which offers an excellent infrastructure and a highly international, vibrant and collaborative research community.
Your Profile:
  • You have gained strong experience in protein biochemistry and have purified proteins and carried out enzyme assays in-vitro
  • You have expertise in fluorescence spectroscopy or other biophysical and structural techniques
  • You are a great team worker
  • You can work independently and diligently and enjoy making discoveries
  • You have a good command of the German language and can communicate your science effectively in English
  • You have first-hand experience in writing peer-reviewed papers
  • You are motivated to apply for a postdoctoral fellowship with support by the PI
We offer:
  • Implementation of your own ideas and work in an innovative interdisciplinary team
