The German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW) is a non-university research institute based in Hannover with an outpost in Berlin and funded by the federal government and the 16 German Länder. With about 300 employees, the DZHW is a national and international centre of excellence for higher education and science research. Its research departments engage in knowledge-oriented as well as problem-oriented research on current and long-term developments on all levels of the higher education and science system.
For our headquarter in Hannover, we advertise
5 POSTDOC POSITIONS (f/m/d; 100% each)
to be filled at the earliest possible date.
For the time being, these positions are limited to three year fixed-term contracts. Scientific further qualification as well as individual research and publication activities are integral parts of the job profile and will be assertively supported by the DZHW.
You have graduated with an excellent degree in a discipline relevant to higher education and/or science studies (e. g. sociology, psychology, political sciences, economics, law). Furthermore, you have completed your doctorate with outstanding success. Your previous research was carried out in one of the following fields: quantitative and micro-founded research on (higher) education or governance of higher education (e. g. financing of higher education institutions and research, governance of higher education and research organisations, governance of continuing academic education and lifelong learning). You enjoy developing new, innovative topics in your field of research and possess exceptional theoretical knowledge and methodological skills. Working autonomously as well as in close professional exchange with colleagues comes naturally to you. You show a proficient command of the English language and have preferably published internationally already.
Holding a multifaceted position, you will conceive new lines of research and actively shape future developments in diverse fields of higher education and science studies. You will work in close interaction with the professorial heads of departments at DZHW. Your own scientific advancement as well as your research and publication activities will contribute to the development of the research profile of DZHW and, at the same time, enhance your own scientific profile.
