The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is a
materials research Organization in Germany. Our mission is to ensure

Your responsibilities include:
Processing of a DFG research project for the analysis of
thermohydraulic spalling mechanisms in different types of concrete
under fire exposure:
- Design of concrete formulations
-
Characterisation of the fresh and hardened concrete properties
-
Carrying out fire tests on small-format building components with
accompanying damage monitoring
-
Determination of thermo-mechanical properties of concretes at high
temperatures with accompanying damage monitoring
-
Determination of moisture distribution in concretes after defined
high-temperature exposure by means of 1H-NMR technique
-
Analysis of the temperature-dependent dehydration and decomposition
behaviour of concretes
-
Investigation of thermal-induced microstructural changes in concrete
after high-temperature exposure
-
Intensive cooperation with the Chair of Statics and Dynamics at the
Ruhr-University Bochum, modelling the thermohydraulic spalling
mechanisms
-
Preparation of research reports, presentation and publication of
results in scientific journals and at national and international
conferences
Your qualifications:
-
Completed scientific university studies (diploma or master's degree)
in the field of civil engineering, materials science, geosciences,
physical engineering sciences or comparable
-
Profound technical knowledge and experience in concrete technology
as well as in testing of building materials and component
- Expertise and, if possible, experience in the field of
high-temperature behaviour of concretes
- Expertise with innovative
measuring equipment
- Confident handling of Microsoft Office
- Good
communication and information skills as well as goal-oriented and
structured way of working
- Very good
knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
- High degree of team spirit, strategic and
innovative thinking skills as well as initiative and commitment
