The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is a materials research organization in Germany. Our mission is to ensure safety in technology and chemistry.
We perform research and testing in materials science, materials engineering and chemistry to improve the safety of products and processes. At BAM we do research that matters. Our
work covers a broad array of topics in the focus areas of energy, infrastructure, environment, materials, and analytical sciences.

Your responsibilities include:
- Coupling a laser ablation system with one MC-ICP-MS and at least one additional ICP-MS instrument via "split stream"
- Calibration of the analytical system with reference materials (pressed nanopellets)
- Analysis of samples affected by microbiologically influenced corrosion
Your qualifications:
- University degree (master / diploma) in the field of chemistry, geochemistry or comparable
- First hands-on experience with ICP-MS is required
- Experience with Laser Ablation is advantageous
- Experience with MC-ICP-MS is advantageous
- Experience with isotope ratio analysis is advantageous
- Experience with machine learning is advantageous
- Basic knowledge on corrosion and microbiologically influenced corrosion is advantageous
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English is required
- Good communication and information behaviour, goal-oriented and structured way of working, initiative / commitment, willingness and ability to make decisions, ability to work in a Team / willingness to cooperate, willingness to learn, flexibility and conceptual, strategic and innovative thinking skills
