PHD student (m/f/d) – Additive manufacturing using the 2PP process
Salary group E 13 TVöD
Temporary contract for 36 months
under the reserve that funds are granted
The working time is 65 % or 100 %.
The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und ‑prüfung (BAM) is a materials research organization in Germany. Our mission is to ensure safety in technology and chemistry. Your responsibilities include:
Further development of ceramic micro-components produced by means of high-resolution 3-printing, adaptation of printing parameters and target design
Mechanical testing of the 3D-printed ceramic components
Adaptation of the print design to mechanical testing
Production and processing of the photo-active printer ink according to a known recipe
Cooperation with other research groups
Publication of the results (scientific publications, presentations)
Preparation of a doctoral thesis
Completed scientific university degree (Diploma/Master's degree) in the field of materials science and engineering or similar
Knowledge of and experience in additive manufacturing, ceramic materials
Experience in the safe handling of chemicals, protective measures and cleanliness in the chemical laboratory as well as disposal are mandatory
Knowledge of additive manufacturing and associated interest in CAD/CAM development and machine programming is advantageous
Basic knowledge of organic chemistry, especially polymer chemistry, is advantageous
Very good knowledge of English and German
Good communication and information behaviour, goal-oriented and structured way of working, initiative/commitment, ability to work in a team and willingness to cooperate as well as flexibility
Interdisciplinary research at the interface of politics, economics and society
Work in national and international networks with universities, research institutes and industrial companies
