Deutsches Zentrum für Neurodegenerative Erkrankungen e.V. (DZNE)
The German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) investigates the
causes of diseases of the nervous system and develops strategies for prevention,
treatment and care. It is an institution within the Helmholtz Association of German
Research Centres with nine sites across Germany (Berlin, Bonn, Dresden, Göttingen,
Magdeburg, Munich, Rostock/Greifswald, Tübingen and Witten). The DZNE

interdisciplinary research project involves working with multimodal neuroimaging
data (MRI and PET) as well as with high-throughput microarray-based
measurements of regional cerebral gene expression. The PhD student will
primarily analyze existing multimodal neuroimaging and microarray-based
gene expression data using neuroimaging-specific and bioinformatic software
tools implemented within Matlab and R computing environments.
The project collaborates with partners from the Institute of Biostatistics of
the University Rostock Medical Center and the Gordon Center for Medical
Imaging, Harvard Medical School. The position holder will be given the opportunity
