The Department of Computer Science at the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen invites applications for a position in the DFG Collaborative Research Center 'Robust Vision' (main supervisor: Prof. Volker Franz; in collaboration with Prof. Ulrike von Luxburg, Prof. Peter Dayan, Prof. Felix Wichmann):

PhD-student at the Department of Computer Science (m/f/d, E13 TV-L; 65%)

The position is available immediately (but start date is negotiable), the contract is initially for three years, and remunerated according to the German salary scale 13 TV-L.

Our interdisciplinary research programme provides exciting and interdisciplinary research opportunities for research on human vision, research methodology and statistical learning. We use a variety of research tools (psychophysics, high-precision motion tracking, eye-tracking, EEG, fMRI) and have a special focus on research-methodology. Successful applicants will work in the interdisciplinary collaborative research center 'Robust vision' (http://www.uni-tuebingen.de/en/95173) and will therefore benefit from a stimulating scientific environment.

Applicants must hold a MSc-degree (or equivalent) in cognitive sciences, psychology, computer science, mathematics, statistics, biology or similar fields. We expect knowledge and interests in experimental psychology, cognitive neurosciences, and programming skills (e.g. Mathlab / Python / R / C/C++).

Tübingen is a beautiful, small University-town with one of the famous old Universities of Europe  (http://www.uni-tuebingen.de/en/university.html). It has a strong and lively research community committed to the Neurosciences and Cognitive Science. Tübingen is a cultural center and right at the beautiful Swabian Alb which allows for plenty of outdoor activites. It is also very close to the large cultural center of Stuttgart.
