PhD Positions Graduate School "Confinement-Controlled Chemistry" (f/m/d)
The Ruhr-Universität Bochum is one of the leading research universities. The university draws its strengths from both the diversity
and the proximity of scientific and engineering disciplines on a single,
coherent campus. This highly dynamic setting enables students and
researchers to work across traditional boundaries of academic subjects
TWELVE PHD POSITIONS
GRADUATE SCHOOL “CONFINEMENT-CONTROLLED CHEMISTRY”
The graduate school "Confinement-controlled Chemistry“ is looking for
top-class graduate students with an interest in exploring the influence of
geometrical confinement on reactions. Our graduate school offers a threeyear
program, starting July 1st 2021, that combines cutting-edge
research with a structured curriculum (in English) of lectures, colloquia
and workshops in the fields of theory, spectroscopy, synthesis, and surface
science. The program also comprises the opportunity for an integrated
three-month research stay, preferably at the University of California.
Twelve PhD positions (E13 TV-L, 50 % for 3 years) are available in the
fields of supramolecular chemistry, synchroton X-ray spectroscopy,
advanced vibrational spectroscopy, single molecule imaging, and free
energy simulations. For further details please refer to our website
At Ruhr-Universität Bochum, we wish to promote careers of women in
areas in which they have been underrepresented, and we would therefore
like to encourage female candidates to send us their applications.
Applications by suitable candidates with severe disabilities and other
applicants with equal legal status are likewise most welcome.
Applications should include degree transcripts and certificates, proof of
language skills in English, a detailed curriculum vita with information on
awards, presentations, and publications and a short motivation letter
(max. 500 words); please prioritize three projects that gather your largest
interest within the graduate school (http://www.confinement-controlled-chemistry.de/openpositions/index.html.en).
