Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) invites applications for an

Open Topic Tenure Track Professorship
for “Business Psychology”
in the Field “Future of Work”
(W1 / Assistant Professor)

The professorship is to be filled by the earliest possible starting date for an initial period of three years. Upon successful evaluation, the appointment will be extended for another three years. FAU offers the long-term perspective of a permanent appointment to a W3 professorship if the requirements of the tenure evaluation are met.
The professorship will be funded with funds from the Federal and State programme run by the German government for supporting young researchers. All professorships from this programme are aimed at strategically strengthening our interdisciplinary key research priorities and are therefore deliberately worded to cover a wide range of topics. Our key concern is to attract outstanding young researchers who are committed to developing their own research profile and their career in collaboration with leading researchers at FAU, whilst helping to shape strategic fields of interest for the future (“open topic tenure track”). The advertised professorship will be assigned to “The World of Work”. Successful candidates will be invited to get involved in the FAU key research priority “The World of Work” as well as in the interdisciplinary centre LASER and the Center for Management, Technology and Society (CMTS).
The Faculty of Business, Economics, and Law seeks to appoint a W1 professor in the School of Business, Economics and Society. We seek to appoint a top early career scholar who will develop outstanding expertise in the field. The professor is expected to teach in the degree programmes offered by the school.
The W1 professorship will be assigned to the area of “Business Psychology” within “Change in the World of Work”. The professorship is intended to also strengthen research in “Human Resources, Work, Organisation” and ideally provide opportunities for collaboration with one or more of the other research focus areas at the school.
Successful candidates demonstrate initial academic achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest international standards. You have substantial research experience abroad and/or experience in managing research projects and in raising third-party funding. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree as well as a passion for education and pertinent teaching experience are also prerequisites. Candidates who are able and willing to teach in both English and German are desired.
FAU expects applicants to become actively involved in administering academic affairs and in developing strategic initiatives. FAU pursues a policy of intense student mentoring and therefore expects its teaching staff to be present during lecture periods.
FAU offers career development, mentoring, and an attractive initial research budget. Based on international standards and transparent performance agreements, FAU ensures a fair tenure track evaluation process.
Please submit your complete application documents (CV, list of publications, list of lectures and courses taught, copies of certificates and degrees, list of third-party funding) online at https://berufungen.fau.de by 12 June 2022, addressed to the Speaker of the School of Business, Economics and Society. Please contact wiso-sprecher@fau.de with any questions.
