Merck Finck Junior Professor of Family Business (m/f/d)
located at WHU Campus Vallendar starting August 1, 2019 or later.
WHU has more than 50 faculty members in the fields of management, finance and accounting, economics, entrepreneurship and innovation, marketing and sales, and supply chain management. Research at WHU aims to adhere to three principles: quality, internationality, and relevance to business practice. Management faculty at WHU regularly publishes in leading international outlets such as Academy of Man-agement Journal, Organization Science, and Management Science. The Institute of Family Business (ifb@WHU) is one of the most renowned family business centers in Europe and the number one in Germany in terms of research output. The center is strongly embedded in the international research community and has strong ties to family businesses and family offices all across Germany.
Conducting relevant and rigorous research in the field of family business
Mentoring Ph.D. students
Developing and maintaining corporate connections
Transferring knowledge to practice in events such as WHU - Campus for Family Business and practice reports
Teaching in the various WHU degree programs (in English; e.g., BSc program, MSc program, Doctoral program)
Relevant Ph.D. degree or equivalent
Distinguished track record in high-quality research, preferably first publications or promising publication pipeline
Ambition to publish in international top journals
Passion for family firms and willingness to engage with practitioners such as regional family firm entrepreneurs, politicians, and associations
Teaching experience, especially in English
Outstanding English communication skills
Considerable international experience
Commitment to contribute to the WHU community
High levels of integrity, curiosity, and strategic thinking
