at Münster School of Design (MSD)

What to expect:

  • In the Bachelor’s degree programme at the department of Design, you will support the subject area of User Interface and User Experience Development in the fields of illustration, product design, communication design and media design in an interdisciplinary manner.
  • In this context, you will teach methods and techniques for the conceptual and creative design of interactive systems in terms of the human-centred design process (HCD) at the interface between theory and practice.
  • You will supervise students in the field of practical application, ranging from user observation, user needs assessment and requirements planning to prototyping at every stage of the HCD process.
  • You will contribute actively and with commitment to university self-government.

Your background:

  • You have a degree (Bachelor’s, Master’s or equivalent degree in Design) and several years of practice in the field of design, focusing on UI/UX/usability.
  • We expect you to have sound methodological, technical and design skills in the field of interactive user interfaces with links to design practice. You have extensive experience in established software solutions in the field of UX and UI.
  • You are familiar with the overall HCD process and are capable of communicating the entire process within this framework.
  • You are passionate about creative processes that you develop through exploration and experimentation, and are able to translate these into application.
  • In addition, you have teaching skills and experience in university teaching.
  • Last but not least, you impress with a good command of English. Ideally, you have professional experience abroad.

We offer you:

  • Permanent employment as a Lecturer with Specific Duties with a teaching load of 12 hours per week per semester (50%), with an expected starting date of 1 April 2023.
  • For this responsible assignment, we offer you remuneration over and above the standard salary up to pay scale (TV-L) 12 or 13 (Master’s) or 11 or 12 (Bachelor’s), dependent on your personal qualifications and professional experience.
  • You will be able to strike a healthy balance between work and leisure / family life.
