CODE is a newly-founded private university of applied sciences that is embedded into the vibrant network of Berlin’s digital economy. At the core of our study programs is a self-directed project-based learning concept. Together with a network of partner organizations, our goal is to provide students with practical, real-world, and digitally-oriented education and the ability to face the technological and social changes and challenges of tomorrow.
We have a strong commitment to our community, to supporting and learning from each other, to development, and to building a healthy work atmosphere. CODE values different perspectives and is committed to a respectful, inclusive and diverse work environment.
For our Science, Technology and Society Program (STS), we are looking for two Lecturers in the Humanities or Social Sciences (f/m/d), at a Junior and Senior level.
We understand STS as a liberal arts program for digital pioneers that puts philosophy at the centre of an interdisciplinary program in the humanities and social sciences. It would be wonderful if you had both a serious dedication to scholarly work and practical experience outside academia.
As a Lecturer in the Humanities or Social Sciences (f/m/d), we’re ideally looking for someone from these areas of competence:
If you supplement this with practical experience from these domains, you’re likely to be precisely the sort of candidate we’re looking for:
Generally, we welcome applicants from any field in the humanities, social sciences and arts.
Most importantly, we are looking for a wide range of intellectual interests, a love for the history of ideas and a connection to the digital present. We value unorthodox and independent thought, especially when it comes with the humility and competence to play the game of current scholarship. CODE is looking for creative, curious and responsive individuals who are happy to work together and identify with an institution where the land is still being laid. CODE is a teaching-focussed and engaging institution, and we want to make sure you can also grow as a researcher and have time to connect your own ideas and projects during your time with us.
CODE’s atmosphere is creative and dynamic with an international team in the heart of Berlin. We value your strengths and will support you with your professional development as well as a fair compensation. Most importantly, joining CODE means being a part of a passionate team who is shaping the future of higher education.
CODE values different perspectives and is committed to a respectful and inclusive work environment and encourages people of all genders, backgrounds, and origins to apply.
