for Data Science and Machine Learning

(up to pay scale/Entgeltgruppe E 13 TV-L)

This lecturer position is part of a project funded by Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and is limited to 31st December 2025 (with the possibility of an extension)

We search for a lecturer with excellent language skills in English and

• a master´s degree or PhD in a STEM subject or computer science
• experience in at least one of the following areas: statistics, AI, machine learning, data science
• experience as a lecturer at a university or a university of applied sciences or comparable institutions
• experience in supervising bachelor and master theses and / or projects in data science
• intention to move to Germany

Basic knowledge of German is an advantage and preferred. Your responsibilities include

• to teach modules focusing on machine learning, data science or statistics with economical, biological or technological applications in English
• to teach general modules contenting statistics and data science in the department of social sciences
• to develop new modules and study courses in those subjects in English
• to guide students to complete their projects and assignments successfully
• to support colleagues in scientific presentations and publications
• to strengthen the international profile of the university
• to support incoming students
