The German Diabetes Center (DDZ) is the Leibniz Institute for Diabetes Research at Heinrich Heine University
Düsseldorf. The DDZ as an interdisciplinary research institute links molecular and cell biological basic
research with clinical and epidemiological research approaches.
The DDZ has the aim to develop new approaches to prevention, early detection and diagnosis of Diabetes
mellitus and to improve therapy and treatment of its complications.
The Institute of Biometrics and Epidemiology (Head: Prof. Dr. Oliver Kuß) is looking for the
Leader of a Junior Research Group "Systematic Reviews"
We are searching for a candidate with experience on systematic reviews or meta-analyses in diabetes research. Based on initial
institutional funding the candidate will chair and develop the group, raise third-party funding and perform relevant systematic
reviews. The applicant is expected to have a degree in Medicine, Public Health, Health Sciences, Psychology or a similar discipline.
We offer an exciting and diversified job in a multidisciplinary team with a mid-term perspective and the possibility of independently
leading a research group. Experiences with systematic reviews and statistical methods for meta-analysis are available at the Institute.
The position is to be awarded starting from October 1st, 2016 at the earliest and will be funded initially for four years with an option
of prolongation. Employment conditions and salary are based on the candidate’s qualification and experience according to TV-L as it is
valid for the Federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia including the special regulations for academia.
The DDZ is aiming explicitly for a larger proportion of females in leading positions and therefore especially encourages female scientists
