Juniorprofessorship (W1) for Application Specific Multi-Core Architectures
Published(807 days ago)
Deadline for applications(779 days ago)
The Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) is one of Germany’s leading research universities.
The University draws its strengths from both the diversity and the proximity of scientific and engineering
disciplines on a single, coherent campus. This highly dynamic setting enables students and researchers to
work across traditional boundaries of academic subjects and faculties. The RUB is a vital institution in
the Ruhr area, which has been selected as European Capital of Culture for the year 2010.
W1-JUNIORPROFESSORSHIP (WITHOUT TENURE TRACK OPTION) FOR
APPLICATION SPECIFIC MULTI-CORE ARCHITECTURES
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum invites
applications for the position of a W1-Juniorprofessorship (without tenure track option) for Application Specific Multi-Core Architectures.
The future occupant of the position Application Specific Multi-Core Architectures represents the department in
this field in research and teaching. The appointment will be at the rank of assistant professor.
The future post holder’s scientific work should focus on one or more of the following key research areas:
Design of computer-aided tools for an efficient programming of multi-core architectures from high level of abstraction
Application specific run-time and operation systems for adaptive multi-core systems
Deployment of hardware/software co-design principles for the development of specific multi-core hardware architectures on basis of FPGAs
Design and realization of FPGA-based on-chip communication infrastructure (e.g. Network-on-Chip)
Reconfigurable computing systems
A doctoral degree of outstanding quality and evidence of special aptitude in teaching are just as much required as the willingness
to participate in the self-governing bodies of the RUB and to generally get involved in university processes according to RUB’s mission
statement. Beside the specific skills the candidates should have a profound didactical qualification to develop new learning environments
such as research oriented learning.
We expect further more readiness to participate in interdisciplinary academic work, willingness and ability to attract external funding
ability to work in teams and the will to participate in collaborative research.
The Ruhr-Universität Bochum is an equal opportunity employer.
